Modernisation at the Dominican Museum in Rottweil
SÜLZLE KOPF: TRAINEES LEND A HAND AT THE MUSEUM
SÜLZLE KOPF, a company belonging to the SÜLZLE Group with over 80 years of experience in building technology, plant engineering and energy solutions, is actively involving its trainees in the modernisation of the heating system at the Dominican Museum in Rottweil. The project offers young professionals the opportunity to gain practical experience with innovative technology at an early stage and to take on responsibility. The heating system at the Dominican Museum was getting on in years and had to be completely renovated in recent weeks. During the renovation phase, a mobile heating system ensured that the valuable exhibits remained optimally protected and air-conditioned. As part of the modernisation, a forward-looking hybrid solution was installed: at its heart is a heat pump from the manufacturer Swegon with a heating capacity of 135 kW and a cooling capacity of 155 kW, which uses the environmentally friendly refrigerant propane. The system is supplemented by a double boiler system with two Viessmann gas condensing boilers, each with an output of 160 kW and connected in cascade, thus achieving a total boiler output of 320 kW. The heat pump can heat or cool as required and, in cooling mode, also provides the necessary dehumidification of the exhibition rooms – a crucial factor for the preservation of the artworks. Additional buffer storage tanks and improved insulation of the distribution network increase the efficiency of the entire system. The measures planned by Maurer Energie- und Ingenieurleistungen GmbH & Co. KG from Schramberg-Sulgen were implemented on site by the SÜLZLE KOPF team. The trainees were involved in individual phases of the modernisation and were supervised by an experienced senior technician. This allowed them to benefit from the many years of practical experience of the specialists and to further deepen their knowledge through direct exchange. ‘The active involvement of our trainees in projects such as the Dominican Museum is very important to us,’ emphasises Norbert Bauer, Managing Director of SÜLZLE KOPF. ‘Not only do they gain valuable practical experience, but they also learn to take responsibility and work in a team. Working on this challenging project gives the trainees a comprehensive insight into modern energy technology and strengthens their skills in the field of sustainable energy supply.’
