SÜLZLE is the winner of the ESG TRANSPARENCY AWARD 2023
Award for sustainable action and reporting
On 6 December, the SÜLZLE Group won the ESG TRANSPARENCY AWARD 2023 in the rating class for its sustainability reporting. The award honours companies that make an important contribution to the future with transparent ESG sustainability reports and sustainable measures. ‘The award confirms that we are on the right track with our sustainability management and reporting in accordance with DNK. We look forward to taking further steps towards achieving our Vision 2030,’ says Maximilian Sülzle, 5th generation of the SÜLZLE Group. ‘What makes our sustainability strategy special is its strategic integration into all areas of the SÜLZLE business. For our team, sustainability is an integral part of our daily work, even in challenging times. This is also reflected in our corporate vision,’ added Nadia Schweizer, CSR Officer of the SÜLZLE Group, at the award ceremony in Bonn’s Petersberg district.
The ESG TRANSPARENCY AWARD, presented by EUPD RESEARCH SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT GMBH, honours companies from all industries that consistently demonstrate a pioneering spirit in aligning their entire business activities with a sustainable and responsible business policy.
In addition to the SÜLZLE Group, Deutsche Telekom AG, Hugo Boss AG and Bayer AG were among the other companies to receive awards. Since the beginning of 2020, the SÜLZLE Group has been an active supporter of the Alliance for Development and Climate. In 2022, SÜLZLE published its first sustainability report in accordance with the DNK Declaration of Conformity. SÜLZLE wants to create sustainability not only for itself, but also for future generations.
In addition to economic growth and customer-oriented corporate management, ecological and social criteria are crucial. The group of companies is in the midst of transformation and, like most companies, faces the dual challenge of combining the principles of economic efficiency and sustainability. In addition, it is important to strengthen innovation and competitiveness, shape digitalisation and meet the demand for skilled workers. This is both a challenge and an opportunity. To this end, climate-relevant emissions are regularly analysed, reduced and offset. The SÜLZLE Group’s CO2 reduction measures include green electricity, LED lighting, electric cars, modernisation of the truck fleet, innovative material logistics and energy production from PV systems.
As one of Germany’s leading steel traders and a driver of innovation in the industry, SÜLZLE Stahlpartner wants to offer its partners and customers the opportunity to purchase climate-friendly steel. To this end, automated, digitised and coordinated production and logistics processes have been created at several locations in recent years. Sustainable, resource-efficient and employee-friendly. SÜLZLE Stahlpartner also focuses on the upstream supply chain.
SÜLZLE not only continuously develops its own group of companies, but also cooperates with companies that are committed to future-oriented topics. For example, the start-up investment Amodes GmbH is constantly developing its environmentally friendly and mobile river and pond sludge dewatering system. Another project is also being developed on the company’s own initiative on the former brickworks site directly on the A81 motorway: the Green Innovation Park. The ‘business park of the future’ is intended to attract companies that are particularly committed to the goals of sustainability, collaboration and digitalisation.
