Expansion of the management team and increase in SÜLZLE’s stake
Arcus is driving forward the circular economy
ARCUS Greencycling Technologies GmbH is setting the course for its next phase of development and expanding its management team: Marcel Beermann has joined the company with immediate effect as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). At the same time, the SÜLZLE Group increased its stake in the company to 100 per cent at the start of 2026. With this addition to the management team, ARCUS, together with its shareholder SÜLZLE, is focusing on strategic reinforcement and laying the foundations for sustainable growth.
Marcel Beermann has more than 25 years’ experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and finance, as well as in procurement and sales. In various senior roles, particularly within the chemical industry, he has successfully overseen numerous transactions and growth phases. His extensive expertise will support ARCUS in implementing the upcoming development steps in a structured, professional and sustainable manner. Whilst Marcel Beermann assumes overall responsibility and focuses on the financial aspects, the existing management team – comprising Daniel Odenthal, Dr Marco Tomasi and Julian Odenthal – will remain unchanged in their respective areas of responsibility.
Stricter regulatory requirements regarding the recycled content of plastic packaging will lead to a significant rise in demand for recycled plastics in the future. Thanks to its proprietary technology, ARCUS is able to extract the necessary raw material from mixed plastic waste. ARCUS is already successfully operating a plant on an industrial scale. In the next phase, which is now beginning, the company plans to work with partners to drive forward the construction of new plants in order to meet the growing market demand.
“With ARCUS, we are making a targeted investment in a future-oriented market that offers enormous potential, both environmentally and economically. The circular economy is a key component of our sustainable corporate strategy,” emphasises Heinrich Sülzle, managing partner of the SÜLZLE Group.
“I am looking forward to the tasks ahead and to working with a strong team. Together with SÜLZLE, we have an excellent foundation for sustainable growth and the next steps,” adds Marcel Beermann.
ARCUS Greencycling Technologies, based in Ludwigsburg, develops innovative plant technologies for the material recovery of mixed and plastic-containing waste streams, thereby making a significant contribution to resource conservation and sustainable management. The ARCUS plant in the Höchst Industrial Park is Germany’s first pyrolysis plant of its kind on an industrial scale for mixed plastic waste. This waste is recycled without the need for complex pre-treatment and converted into pyrolysis oil, gas and solid residues. The pyrolysis oil obtained can be reused in the petrochemical industry, thereby helping to close the plastic cycle. SÜLZLE KOPF supported ARCUS in the planning of the plant and also supplied components for it. In 2025, ARCUS was awarded the Gold Award by INEOS Inovyn for advances in PVC recycling through pyrolysis.
