Hoym quarter closes gap at historic Neumarkt

27.06.2019

CG Gruppe AG laid the foundation stone for its latest construction project on 27 June 2019: With the construction of the Hoym quarter, the project developer with its own construction expertise is closing one of the last major construction gaps on Dresden’s Neumarkt. The quarter is being built just a few metres from the world-famous Frauenkirche. The ambitious urban development project on the historic site comprises almost 20,000 square meters of residential space.
Built in the Saxon rococo style, Palais Hoym was a aristocratic palace that stretched across several courtyards and was regarded as the jewel of Dresden’s old town until its complete destruction in World War II.
With the Hoym quarter, an elaborate reconstruction of the palace and an associated new building are now taking place. By the end of 2021, around 258 apartments with office and commercial units, a hostel and car parking spaces will be built on a plot of around 9,614 square metres.
SÜLZLE Stahlpartner is supplying around 3,800 tonnes of reinforcing steel and 950 tonnes of storage mats for this special construction project from the Dessau-Rosslau location on behalf of ARGE Quartier Hoym Dresden (consisting of Ed. Züblin AG and Dressler Bau GmbH).
