The redesign of the Wacken grounds for national and international events in Strasbourg was planned by the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. The project to build a new fairground had arisen because of the of the outdated halls. In October 2018, the EMS commissioned the SERS with the construction of the new “Parc des Expositions de Strasbourg (PEX)”. With over 25,000 m² of covered exhibition space, the area is to be spread over four halls. A multi-storey car park with 900 parking spaces is also planned. Kengo Kuma relies on a wood and steel construction, local materials, simple forms and a play on the water of the diversion canal. Sustainable goals are incorporated through a environmental concept. SOTRALENTZ CONSTRUCTION has provided more than 300 tons of list mats for the floor slabs of four halls with an area of area of approx. 23,650 m².
