SÜLZLE Stahlpartner supplies drilled piles and diaphragm walls for Strandkai Quarter

08.05.2018

Drilled piles and diaphragm walls are used in special foundation engineering, for example before the construction of buildings or for underground shafts and road tunnels. Drilled piles give the structures stability, diaphragm walls prevent water or soil from penetrating into the excavation pits.
SÜLZLE Stahlpartner Dessau-Roßlau manufactures individual drilled pile cages made of reinforcing steel up to a diameter of 1.32 m and a length of 18 m in one piece. These are delivered to the construction sites on time according to tested reinforcement drawings. Upon customer request, the baskets can be pushed up to 26 m in the factory and transported to the construction site by special transport. These bored pile baskets are welded on four semi-automatic machines. Specially designed construction facilities are in operation for diaphragm wall construction, where individual reinforcement cages in various shapes and lengths are produced and delivered with the required special inserts and attachments. Both productions are subject to DIN EN ISO 17660 Parts 1 and 2.

In this way, the large housing project in Hamburg’s prime location not far from the Unilever building was served with around 700 tonnes of drilled pile reinforcement. On behalf of Franki Grundbau GmbH from Seevetal, SÜLZLE Stahlpartner Dessau-Roßlau manufactured almost 1,600 drilled pile baskets for the four properties on Strandkai. On the 14,000 m² site, the new Strandkai quarter with around 470 high-quality rental and condominium apartments, two luxury residential towers with views of the Elbphilharmonie, Grimm’s fairytale worlds and the KinderKulturHaus on the ground floor as well as additional space for shops and restaurants will be built by the end of 2022.
