SÜLZLE Stahlpartner Dessau-Roßlau supports the zoo in Dessau-Roßlau

Donation to mark the 140th anniversary of the SÜLZLE Group

To mark the 140th anniversary of the SÜLZLE Group, the SÜLZLE Stahlpartner site in Dessau-Roßlau is donating €1,400 to the landscape-protected zoo in Dessau. Covering 11 hectares, it is Dessau’s largest and most popular local recreation centre, whose fauna and flora are visited and admired by more than 100,000 guests every year. The first sod for the zoo was turned in 1958, and year after year the zoo became more attractive and richer in animal life. Many enclosures and aviaries were built.
Beauty and idyll combine in this charming landscape. 500 animals of around 120 different species live among rare trees and shrubs. Over 1,000 trees, including around 125 labelled species, define the park’s profile. This makes the zoo, unlike almost any other institution, not only an attraction for children and adults, but also ideally suited to vividly illustrating the origins, habitats and living environments of the various animals. After all, knowledge of the animal world also increases understanding of the environment.

The donation from SÜLZLE Stahlpartner Dessau-Roßlau will be used for a major project involving an Australian enclosure, where visitors will be able to see black-nosed sheep as well as emus, kangaroos and dromedaries. Branch manager Thorsten Hille presented a donation cheque to zoo director Jan Bauer on behalf of the entire Dessau-Roßlau site.
