SÜLZLE STAHL Ehrenfriedersdorf supports the Frohnauer Hammer museum
Donation on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the SÜLZLE Group
As part of its 140th anniversary celebrations, SÜLZLE STAHL Ehrenfriedersdorf is donating €1,400 to the Frohnauer Hammer museum, one of the most important components of the UNESCO World Heritage Site ‘Ore Mountains/Krušnohoří Mining Region’. It is one of the most popular destinations and attractions in the Ore Mountains and, since 1910, has been Germany’s oldest blacksmithing museum, originating from a grain mill built in the Middle Ages. In 1621, it was converted into a hammer mill. Until 1904, tools for mining and agriculture were manufactured here. Visitors can see the fully functional 17th-century water-powered hammer mill in action and visit the living quarters of the former hammer masters in the manor house. The donation will be used to replace a gear wheel that has been damaged by weather and age, so that the attached water wheel can do its job again. Those responsible would be delighted if the water wheel were running again in time for the 400th anniversary of the Frohnauer Hammer in August 2021. On behalf of SÜLZLE STAHL Ehrenfriedersdorf, plant manager Alexander Schröter presented the donation cheque to representatives of the museum.
