SÜLZLE Group fundraising campaign for flood victims

We are taking the end of the year as an opportunity to look at the people who were severely affected by the flood disaster in 2021. Many lost their livelihoods or loved ones in a very short time.

On the night of 15 July, a devastating natural disaster struck North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. The flood of the century led to severe flooding and caused serious destruction. Small streams turned into raging rivers, dams overflowed, bridges collapsed and many people lost their livelihoods, were injured or died. Due to the masses of water, many villages were cut off from the outside world for days and were inaccessible to rescue services.

Many businesses, schools and nurseries will not be able to return to normal in the long term. Mobile phone masts, electricity, gas and water lines have been destroyed in many places. In some cases, the infrastructure will have to be completely rebuilt. People will not be able to return to normal life any time soon.

The SÜLZLE Group has therefore decided to forego customer gifts and instead support those affected in the flood areas, who are still struggling with the consequences of the disaster more than five months after it occurred. To this end, specific projects are being selected and direct contacts on site are ensuring that the funds actually reach their intended destination: the people affected – 100 per cent of the amount.

We are proud of our entire workforce, who are supporting this campaign with a voluntary employee donation of €25,000. The company is matching this amount to €75,000. This will enable us to provide valuable assistance together. We will, of course, keep you informed about how the funds are being used and the projects being supported.
