“Green steel” for KIPP extension

New logistics center with a sustainable role model character

The HEINRICH KIPP WERK is expanding logistics at its headquarters in Sulz am Neckar. The special feature: The project only uses CO2-neutral reinforcing steel from SÜLZLE Stahlpartner from Rosenfeld. The new building is therefore a sustainable investment in the future in two senses. „We rely on long-term growth“, emphasizes Nicolas Kipp, Managing Director of KIPP. „We are once again committed to sustainable action and support climate protection with CO2-neutral steel.“

With a total area of 4,300 m2, the project is a showcase construction project: modern logistics technology and sustainable building materials help to protect the environment. Around 400 tons „green steel“ will be delivered by SÜLZLE Stahlpartner from Rosenfeld for the extension by June 2021. KIPP compensates for CO2 pollution in steel production by making a climate protection contribution per ton of reinforcing steel delivered. This is confirmed by a document that Heinrich Sülzle handed over to the builders Nicolas and Heinrich Kipp. The contribution will support projects in emerging and developing countries. „Steel is also the recycling world champion because it can be processed again and again without loss of quality. Hardly any other building material represents such sustainability“, said Heinrich Sülzle, managing partner of the SÜLZLE Group, when handing over the documents. „We are pleased about the increasing demand for „green steel“ and congratulate the KIPP company on its promising extension“.

First CO2-neutral reinforcing steel dealer in Germany
SÜLZLE Stahlpartner has been a climate-neutral company since 2020. For this purpose, climate-relevant emissions were analyzed, reduced and compensated for. The Rosenfeld company is the first reinforcing steel dealer in Germany to offer its customers the opportunity to purchase CO2-neutral steel from its 18 locations across Germany. Behind this lies a forward-looking solution: In order to compensate for previously unavoidable CO2 pollution, the customer can support global projects that have a positive impact on the climate by contributing to climate protection per ton of reinforcing steel delivered. A milestone in the reinforcing steel industry. The trend towards sustainable construction is clear: more and more building contractors, builders and property developers are therefore opting for reinforcing steel with a neutral ecological balance from SÜLZLE Stahlpartner.

KIPP builds sustainably

KIPP’s new building will include a logistics expansion with shuttle storage, an order picking area, as well as offices and a lounge. „Innovative and leading companies have a high level of awareness of climate protection and sustainability“, says Michael Frey from the architects Schmelzle+Partner, who oversees KIPP’s new building project. „By using CO2-neutral structural steel, HEINRICH KIPP WERK realizes sustainable construction and thereby supports global renewable energy projects.“
