Michaelibad Geothermal Project, Munich

SÜLZLE Nutzeisen is supplying a total of 115 tonnes of steel pipes on behalf of Max Bögl for one of Germany’s largest inner-city geothermal plants. Stadtwerke München is carrying out this project at the Michaelibad with the aim of supplying around 75,000 Munich residents with climate-friendly district heating in future. The thermal water is extracted from a depth of around 3,000 metres and its heat is transferred to the district heating network via an energy centre. The geothermal plant is scheduled to come into operation in 2034.
