SÜLZLE Group donation campaign for people affected by the flood disaster
We take the end of the year as an opportunity to look at the people who were severely affected by the flood disaster in 2021. Many lost their livelihood or loved ones in a very short time.
In the night of July 15, North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate were hit by a shocking natural disaster. The flood of the century caused severe flooding and wreaked havoc. Small streams turned into raging rivers, dams overflowed, bridges collapsed and many people lost their livelihoods, were injured or died. Due to the masses of water, many towns and villages were cut off from the outside world for days and inaccessible to rescue workers.
Many businesses, schools and kindergartens will not be able to return to normality in the long term. Mobile phone masts, electricity, gas and water lines have been destroyed in many places. Some of the infrastructure will have to be completely rebuilt. People will not be able to return to normality so quickly.
The SÜLZLE Group has therefore decided to forgo customer gifts and instead support those affected in the flooded areas, who are still struggling with the consequences of the disaster more than five months after it occurred. To this end, projects are specifically selected and direct contacts on the ground are used to ensure that the money really does get to where it is meant to go: to the affected people- and 100 percent of it.
We are proud of our entire workforce, which supports this campaign with a voluntary employee donation of €25,000. This amount will be increased to €75,000 by the company. This will enable us to provide valuable assistance together. Of course, we will keep you informed about the use and the supporting projects.
