SÜLZLE named ‘Best Managed Company’ for the fourth time in a row

Focusing on the future across generations

On 25 May, the SÜLZLE Group was once again honoured with the Best Managed Company Award 2023. This award is presented by Deloitte Private, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and the Federation of German Industries (BDI) to companies that are excellently managed. SÜLZLE has won the award for the fourth time in a row, thereby achieving gold status for the seal of quality.

Rosenfeld, 26 May 2023 – The SÜLZLE Group impressed across the board. It won over the expert council and a jury of renowned representatives from business, science and the media. Managing directors Heinrich and Andreas Sülzle accepted the award on Thursday in Düsseldorf. ‘A Best Managed Company such as the SÜLZLE Group is characterised by a forward-looking strategy, high productivity and a strong culture of innovation, as well as value-oriented corporate management,’ explains Dr Christine Wolter, partner and head of Deloitte Private. She also emphasises: ‘It is precisely through the combination of employer attractiveness and economic success that the Best Managed Companies play an important role as beacons in their regions.’

The winners are evaluated and selected based on four core award categories: strategy, productivity and innovation, culture and commitment, and governance and finance. Only those who excel in all four categories have a chance of winning the award. ‘Winning this prestigious award for the fourth time makes us proud of our team,’ says Heinrich Sülzle. Together with his brother Andreas, he is the fourth generation to run the family business. ‘We see this award as an incentive to continuously develop our sustainable corporate vision,’ explains Andreas Sülzle.

With its 29 locations, the Rosenfelder Group is firmly rooted in clear values that have been upheld for generations. Economic, ecological and social aspects are closely interlinked. SÜLZLE is committed to the issues of steel, energy and the environment. The managing directors combine expertise and innovative strength with sustainable entrepreneurship.

SÜLZLE Stahlpartner is one of the first distributors to offer its customers CO2-neutralised reinforcing steel. The climate protection contribution made by the customer per tonne of reinforcing steel is used to promote projects that have a positive impact on the global CO2 balance. This is achieved by offsetting the CO2 emissions generated – from the provision of raw materials to delivery to the construction site.

The pioneer in the reinforcing steel industry entered new business areas such as environmental technology years ago. Here, for example, the subsidiary SÜLZLE KOPF SynGas uses special recycling processes to extract raw materials such as phosphorus from sewage sludge.

SÜLZLE is not only constantly developing its own group of companies, but also cooperates with companies that are committed to future-oriented topics. Two start-up investments, ARCUS Greencycling Technologies GmbH and Amodes GmbH, are working on efficient raw material recovery and environmentally friendly water desludging. Another project is also being developed on the company’s own initiative on the former brickworks site directly on the A81 motorway: the Green Innovation Park. The ‘business park of the future’ is intended to attract companies that pursue the goals of sustainability, collaboration and digitalisation.
