SÜLZLE Trainee Project: Regional Orchard Meadow
With the regional orchard meadow project, our trainees want to make their contribution to sustainability. On more than 1,800 m² of open space, they have set themselves the task of planting a total of 24 apple trees of different varieties to preserve old orchard varieties. This will also create habitats and refuges for various animals, including insects and birds.
In consultation with the local district office, the plot of land to be planted was first surveyed and the best locations for the trees were determined. Our trainees then dug the holes for the tree seedlings in cooperation with the youth teams of TSG Balingen and planted them in the prepared locations on the following date.
The tasks that will now follow, which will also be carried out by the SÜLZLE trainees, include the ongoing maintenance of the trees and the entire plot of land, as well as harvesting and processing the fruit.
„In addition to having fun, this campaign allowed us to work together to set an example for a better environment.“.
