Trade fair contact leads to major cross-company project

Sachsenmilch Leppersdorf GmbH near Dresden, part of the Theo Müller Group, is one of the most modern milk processing companies in Europe. An integral part of the dairy is an in-house wastewater treatment plant, which treats the high wastewater volumes of approx. 12,000 m³/day. One problem with wastewater treatment is the high proportion of calcium carbonate in the wastewater. In order to avoid damage and high cleaning costs to pipelines and plants due to the high calcium content, Sachsenmilch Leppersdorf GmbH carried out tests with a Dutch “Crystalactor” process, which delivered very good results in removing calcium from the wastewater. This was the starting signal for the “Crystalactor plant” project. The project engineer from Sachsenmilch and the SÜLZLE KOPF sales manager Thilo Kläger, who had initial contact with the SÜLZLE Group at the IFAT 2016 trade fair in Munich, developed a major cross-company project.

This project comprised the entire planning implementation, the manufacture, the installation and the commissioning of a softening plant for wastewater treatment with downstream dryer. Sachsenmilch Leppersdorf GmbH built a new steel hall in which SÜLZLE KOPF installed the new plant. The synergies and performance power of the SÜLZLE Group became visible in this major project, as three companies are involved.

SÜLZLE KOPF was responsible for the overall management, the engineering services, the production and the complete installation including all small cables and conveyor systems. SÜLZLE KLEIN from Niederfischbach was in charge of the control technology (EMSR), the programming and the belt dryer. As a steel professional, SÜLZLE Stahlpartner supplied all steel profiles and sheets for plant construction/container construction. The project started in December 2016. The plant went into operation at the end of 2017 and has been running very successfully since then.
